Emergency Trauma

Hurley Medical Center is home to a 72-bed ED, staffed by board-certified emergency physicians, physician assistants, registered nurses, and emergency room technicians, all of whom are determined to be the calm in a storm. Stroke, heart attack, burns, behavioral health issues–any emergency you can name, we’ve got it covered. We are the front door to the region’s only Level I ACS verified trauma center and have provided the highest level of emergency care in the region to over 100,000 patients a year. If you crave a fast-paced environment working alongside experienced leadership, the ED is for you.

Geriatrics

They don’t call us a Senior Center of Excellence for nothing. We specialize in geriatric care, which means the ED has a provision for patients age 65 or older to be “fast tracked” straight into a room. No ER wait for them, ever. Fall prevention, pain management and dementia care–these are only a few of the ways we provide exceptional service to this vital patient population.

Level I Adult Trauma

As the region’s only Level I Trauma Center, Hurley provides care to over 1,500 patients per year, making it one of the highest volume trauma centers in the state. We attract only the most dedicated professionals, who, in addition to monthly trauma training, become credentialed in ACLS, TNCC, ATCN, ENPC, and PALS. Those who get fulfillment driving successful patient outcomes should feel right at home in Trauma.

Level II Pediatric Trauma

The Pediatric Emergency Department is the gateway to the region’s only Children’s Hospital and Level II Pediatric Center. Best chances live here, where team members are not only equipped with advanced pediatric training but are certified in ENPC, PALS, and TNCC.

The 16-bed unit includes two dedicated resuscitation rooms and a dental / ENT room.
