Tests are designed to identify cognitive weaknesses in specific areas. They are sensitive to mild memory and thinking problems that might not be obvious in other ways. Testing can help determine whether memory changes are normal age-related changes or if they reflect a neurological disorder. Testing can also be used to identify problems related to medical conditions or developmental disorders that often affect memory and thinking such as traumatic brain injury, stroke, brain tumor, multiple sclerosis, ADHS and learning disability. Testing can also help determine the impact of pain, anxiety and depression on thinking skills.
