A recognized Center of Excellence delivering the highest level of cancer care

The oncology surgeons, physicians, nurses and administrative staff at Hurley Medical Center are among the most experienced in the country. All of our surgeons are board-certified in one or more oncology disciplines, including gynecological oncology, pediatric oncology, adult hematology/oncology (also known as medical oncology) and radiation oncology, and many have additional certifications in surgery, pediatrics and internal medicine. Likewise, our nursing team is highly trained and focused on the treatment of patients with cancer. 

2011 Outstanding Achievement Award from the Commission on Cancer

In 2011, The Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons has granted its Outstanding Achievement Award to Hurley Medical Center as a result of surveys performed during 2010. Hurley Medical Center is one of a select group of 90 currently accredited and newly accredited cancer programs across the United States, and the only medical center in Genesee County to receive this prestigious award. The CoC of the American College of Surgeons sets quality of care standards for cancer programs and reviews the programs to ensure they conform to those standards.

Outstanding Achievement Awards by the CoC is given only to those facilities that have committed themselves to providing the highest level of quality cancer care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance.
