Child Passenger Safety Training Course
March 29-Hurley Medical Center, Safe Kids Greater Flint, and Kettering University invite you to attend a Child Passenger Safety Training Course in Flint, May 8-11, 2012. This national curriculum was developed for child passenger safety advocates interested in becoming certified child passenger safety technicians.
Course to be held at the Kettering University Crash Safety Center
Held at the Kettering University Crash Safety Center, 1700 University Avenue, Flint, MI, from 8:00am-5:00pm each day, the certification course involves lecture, indoor hands-on training, outdoor hands-on training and a public car seat inspection. Students MUST attend all sessions including the car seat check to be eligible for certification.
Since much of the activity is outside on asphalt pavement, be sure to wear comfortable clothing, hats and sunglasses, as well as sunblock. We work outdoors as part of this class so please dress appropriately for the weather conditions.
Cost and enrollment instructions
The cost of the course is $75.00 and includes all course materials, a continental breakfast, and lunch each day. Dinner and hotel accommodations are the responsibility of participants. Enrollment instructions and other details can be found on the certification section of the Safe Kids web site. Class size is limited to 15.
Certified Child Passenger Safety Instructors
Certified Child Passenger Safety Instructors will conduct the course and will use a variety of vehicles, child safety seats, safety belts and other teaching tools in order to give students as much direct experience as possible with a variety of car seat and belt system combinations. They will also use participants' vehicles for training.
